How to Relax Using Deep Breathing Techniques

Posted by Scott Davis

This video over at VideoJug is a great demonstration of the “Square Breathing” technique I described last week in How To Survive A Panic Attack Part 1. It gives simple, step-by-step instructions on how to learn deep breathing techniques.

One thing that I do like about this video is that it concentrates on the importance of the actual breathing techniques, such as diaphragmatic breathing. Musicians use diaphragmatic breathing to control their breath when they are singing or playing wind instruments such as the trumpet. It’s a good technique to learn, but it is very tough to describe how diaphragmatic breathing works in writing, so I didn’t spend a lot of time talking about it in my Panic Attack entry.

Anyway, it’s a pretty good video. Give it a look.
